Samsung Blue Earth - The Eco Friendly Mobile Phone

Science has provided many gadgets to human beings that have changed the lifestyle of each and every human being significantly. One of the inventions of science is the mobile phone which is a portable device that allows users to communicate using a wireless network.
Till now about 800 million people are using mobiles. As a technology has merit, it also has some demerits. Problems with mobile phones are that they can not be recycled easily, so a large amount of old or nonworking cell phones are lying in trash. Most of its components have a significant impact on the environment and need to disposed properly. For example, cadmium which is present in a cell phone is the seventh most harmful chemical, capable of causing cancer. It also contains lead which causes liver damage. If not disposed of properly, the metals from the cell phone can leak into the environment through corrosion and cause a series of problems in the environment.
Mobile company manufacturers started noticing these problem and are trying to manufacture Eco friendly mobile phones. Samsung, one of leading manufacturers, gave an answer to the above problem by developing the Samsung Blue Earth, an environmentally friendly mobile phone with a touch screen. Blue Earth is made from Post Consumer Material (PCM), which is extracted from water bottles, helps to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions during the manufacturing process. The device, including the charger, is free from harmful substances such as Brominated Flame Retardants (BFR), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) and Phthalate.
Blue Earth provide a user interface which is designed to draw attention to preserving our environment. The Eco-Walk function allows users to determine their number of steps and calculate amount of carbon dioxide that would have been released if a vehicle is used instead of walking. With Eco mode on screen brightness, backlight duration and Bluetooth can be set to an energy-efficient mode, that reducing energy consumption of mobile phone. Blue Earth comes with a 5 star energy efficient charger. Blue Earth allow charging with the solar panel located on back of the phone. Solar energy is one of the most Eco-friendly energy sources, moreover it is free of cost and available in abundant and it helps users reduce usage of energy from nonrenewable sources.
